śatakatrayam 1.42: durjanaḥ parihartavyo (shun a wicked man!)

दुर्जन: परिहर्तव्यो विद्ययालंकृतोऽपि सन् ।
मणिना भूषित: सर्प: किमसौ न भयंकर: ।।४२।।

shun a wicked man,
even if he is learned!
isn’t a snake frightening
even if ornamented by jewels? ||42||

* this analogy drawn to a snake is based on a convention in the Sanskrit poetic universe that snakes contains jewels in their hoods.
