śatakatrayam 1.14: you can’t take away knowledge

अम्भोजिनीवनविहारविलासमेव
हंसस्य हन्ति नितरां कुपितो विधाता ।
न त्वस्य दुग्धजलभेदविधौ प्रसिद्धां
वैदग्ध्यकीर्तिमपहर्तुमसौ समर्थ: ।।१४।।
नीतिशतके

if brahma is angry,
he can prevent a goose
from frolicking in his
forest of lotus ponds.
but he cannot take away
its prized skill
in separating milk from water. ||14||
nītiśataka

translation:
the president can prevent intellectuals from coming into his territory, but he can’t take away their knowledge.
